Bishop's Bible Week

Had a great time leading worship at the Bishop's Bible Week this week with a fantastic team of young musicians from Holywood Parish!

I've been training the team from the ground up for the last five years, and this was their second chance to get beyond the walls of their own parish and contribute elsewhere. They were as good as any team I could have had, and from their faces and the comments from a number of delegates, I know all of the young people and the entire congregation really enjoyed it. It does my heart good to see them released into ministry at such a young age and I know that very soon I will be able to walk away and let them continue with minimal assistance from me!

The most keen observation from one of the young people made us all laugh: she came to the realisation on the last night that the Bishop's Bible Week was just like Summer Madness (Ireland's largest Christian Youth Festival) "but for older people". After a few seconds of further thought, she concluded: "it's Bishop's Madness!"

Here are the setlists for the event:

Wednesday
As the Deer (Martin Nystrom - Lovely Day arrangement)
I Stand Amazed in the Presence (Salley Gardens setting)
Loved with Everlasting Love (I Am His and He is Mine)
Faithful One (Brian Doerksen)
Jesus, Be the Centre (Michael Fry)

Friday
Blessed Assurance (after Third Day's arrangement)
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty (tr. by me)
How Great Thou Art (after Paul Baloche's arrangement)
Lead me, Lord (Samuel Wesley)
Jesus, All for Jesus (Robin Mark)
